Deadly Bus Accident in Nepal’s Dhading District Claims Lives, Injures Many

(MENAFN) A passenger bus traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu tragically plunged into the Trishuli River in Nepal’s Dhading district early Monday, resulting in 19 deaths and leaving 25 others injured, according to local authorities. The accident has sent shockwaves through the region and prompted rescue teams to rush to the scene.

Among the victims, one Chinese national lost their life, while another sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital, as confirmed by the Chinese Embassy in Nepal. Officials are coordinating with local authorities to provide support to foreign nationals affected by the incident.

The bus, reportedly carrying 45 passengers, veered off the highway before tumbling into the river. Rescue teams worked to retrieve survivors and transport the injured to medical facilities for urgent care. Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing, as authorities try to determine whether road conditions, mechanical failure, or driver error contributed to the tragic crash.
